Dear USD 358 Oxford Schools Families,
Our district is committed to the social and emotional well being of our students and community. Therefore, we will continue to provide education through teacher developed lessons, focusing on essential skills. Our staff is dedicated to finding creative solutions to this situation and wants to be a partner in your child’s success.
Currently, we are developing plans to provide lessons for every student in a variety of ways including projects, work packets, and online options. We gathered information from our families during our phone conversations, emails, and texts made earlier this week regarding internet access available in homes. Based on that information, our technology director and leadership team have been working to provide access points both in the Geuda Springs and Oxford communities.
Next week, our teachers will be finalizing lessons, and preparing materials for families. We are also working on strategies and times to distribute the materials and belongings left at school. Our goal is that students will have lessons from teachers and materials so they can start working by Monday, March 30th. We will send out more information as we finalize details. These plans are subject to changed depending on mandates from state and local officials.
We encourage students and families to use this time to reconnect and build strong relationships. Efforts in this area will strengthen resiliency for our children for generations to come. Playing card and board games, gardening, singing, reading, arts and crafts, cooking, fishing, yard games, cleaning skills, community service, and much more are powerful opportunities for learning. Our community will thrive if we view this as an opportunity to slow down and refocus on our loved ones.
Please contact me if you have any questions or needs. This is an outstanding community and I know we will get through this stronger and more united. #wearefamily358
Respectfully,
